The BEST thing ever is whipped coffee. Do you know how to make whipped coffee? There are just 3 ingredients! With a hand mixer, it just takes 5 minutes to make your morning coffee foamy and utterly delightful! It may be made hot or cold!
What Is Whipped Coffee
This type of coffee is known on Tiktok as “whipped coffee” (also known as TikTok coffee). Its name, Dalgona Coffee, was actually made up by South Korean actor Jung Il-woo. Since then, I’ve heard that it has been around for a while and is recognized in many different countries as Frappe Coffee, Beaten Coffee, and other names.
How to Make Whipped Coffee
- Ingredients
2 ounces of strong coffee or hot espresso (We like to use fresh Volcanica coffee beans)
White sugar, 2 ounces (4 tablespoons).
1/2 cup of cold milk
- Equipment
Stand mixer
Bowl
Long glass
Spoon
- Detailed Step
First, mix sugar and espresso in a bowl.
White sugar and hot espresso should be added to a bowl. The mixture must be well-stirred.
Secondly, whip until fluffy.
Using a hand mixer or a stand mixer, carefully whip the espresso and sugar. Be patient! This will take several minutes, and you don’t want to stop too early. When it’s fully whipped, the mixture should have a meringue-like texture and form soft peaks. In our experience, this takes about 5-8 minutes.
Thirdly, add milk to fill the glass.
Fill the big glass with the cold milk. In order to fully appreciate the appearance of this lovely beverage, we prefer to use transparent glasses.
Fourth, add the beaten mixture with spoonfuls.
Put the meringue with the espresso and sugar in the glass on top of the milk. I’m done now! This unusual beverage must be savored right away because the frothy coffee is just temporary.
Tips for Making Whipped Coffee
1. For speed, use an electric mixer. My hands were tired after a few minutes of whisking this the first time, so I asked my husband to do it for me. Both a milk frother and a stand mixer work great and are significantly quicker! Still, at least five minutes will pass.
2. Not in a mug or jar, but in a bowl, whisk the ingredients. This occurs as the Algona coffee is whisked through the mixture and becomes frothy, reacting with the air. As a result, a tall container like a mug or jar won’t allow for adequate airflow.
3. When possible, use hot water. There is no need for hot water. Even with water that is cold or room temperature, it will still whip up smoothly. The hot water, however, seems to operate more quickly.
4. Before drinking, stir the whipped coffee with a spoon or straw. While it’s entertaining to put the whipped coffee recipe on top of the beverage, the taste should be well incorporated before serving. By then, it will resemble a frappuccino.
FAQs
- Is whipped coffee possible without a mixer?
A qualified no is a response to this question. Espresso and sugar cannot be manually whipped into a meringue unless you’re Hercules. It takes tremendous effort to whip vigorously for up to 8 minutes without stopping. We can’t suggest this for your morning beverage, but feel free to give it a go as an arm workout.
- What type of sugar is appropriate for creamed coffee?
Use granulated sugar instead. White sugar, brown sugar, raw sugar, and coconut sugar are all acceptable.
- Does whipped coffee work without sugar?
You can…BUT! I gave it a try, and while it does puff up in the same amount of time as the sugar version, it doesn’t stay puffy for as long. While the sugar version remains fluffy for hours, this version is only puffy for around two minutes before gently dissolving over the course of the next five minutes to become liquid once more. So bear that in mind when using the plain version.
- Should I use cold or hot milk?
Anybody will do! I make an iced coffee since I like coffee that is chilly. But you can certainly make it hot because the principle is the same. Therefore, you would heat your milk and then swirl it into the hot milk if you wanted it hot.
